German potato pancakes


°1 small onion

°1 pound potatoes

°1 medium-sized egg

°3 tablespoons of flour

°1 pinch of pepper

°1 pinch of salt

°1 oil (for frying)


Grate the onion and potatoes using a grater or a food processor.

In a bowl, beat the egg. Add grated onion and potatoes, flour, pepper and salt and mix well.

Heat oil in  skillet over medium heat.

Using a 1/4 cup scoop, pour the batter into the hot oil. Flatten the dough to form a pancake shape.

Fry the pancake for about 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Repeat with the rest of the batter, adding more oil if needed.

Serve German Potato Pancakes warm with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream or applesauce. Enjoy!
